What you are agreeing to, in full.
Six documents. Two of them — the Data Processing Agreement and the subprocessor list — are the ones a firm’s professional insurer asks for, so they are published rather than sent on request.
-
Terms of Service
You accept thisThe agreement between your firm and us: what you may use the software for, what it costs, that your data stays yours, and how either of us can end it.
-
Privacy Policy
PublishedWhat personal information we collect about the people who use T1 Manager, why, and how to ask us about it. Your clients' information is covered separately by the Data Processing Agreement.
-
Data Processing Agreement
You accept thisHow we handle your clients' personal information on your behalf: that it stays in Canada, that we act only on your instructions, who at our end can see it, and what happens if something goes wrong.
-
Subprocessor list
Part of the DPAEvery company other than us that touches your firm's data, what each one does, and which country your data is in while they do it.
-
Acceptable Use Policy
You accept thisWhat you may and may not do with the service — in particular, the rules around emailing your clients, where Canadian anti-spam law puts the responsibility on your firm.
-
Security overview
PublishedHow your firm's data is separated from every other firm's, how Social Insurance Numbers are encrypted, how backups work, and what we have not done.
Why the versions look like that
Each version is a fingerprint of the document’s own text rather than a number somebody types. Change a word and the version changes, whether or not anyone remembered to bump it — so the record of what your firm accepted cannot quietly drift away from what the page now says.
When a document you have accepted changes, we email your account owner and ask them to review it at their next sign-in. Your firm can download its own acceptance record at any time from Firm & access.
